Thank you all...VERY MUCH!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came by Saturday to help me get some projects done around here! Kristen, Ryan, Sue, Jim, Celine, John, Pat, Mom, Dad, Christine & Ella....you are awesome!! And for those who couldn't be there in person (Pericles, Kim, Kristy, Jeff, Donna- to name a few!) you were there in spirit and your donations are greatly appreciated!
I wish I had thought to take before and after pictures...but my feet hit the ground running in the morning, starting with a round of feedings and I didn't stop all day..it was all a blur.

My yard is neat and clean now...not a mess....it's actually a pleasure to look at.
And my basement......where do I begin! It no longer looks like a bomb exploded in there! The guys worked on getting the shelving moved and set up so I could clear a nice space to have enclosed as an isolation area. Dad is working on that and gathering easy to disinfect materials to build it.

Everything else is cleaned up and organized and in its place. A lot of large garbage bags were hauled outta there too!

All the babies are doing great. 2 new 5wk old squirrels were added to the mix. I anticipate they will be joining Luci and Sweetie in a few days.

All the baby coonies are doing great. The youngest 4 are all taking the bottle now...no more tube feeding! Yayyyyy. Look at the difference in colors on them....ranging from quite blond to very dark brown!

Look at her go! One of Stony's girls, only 4 days old and eating like a pro. One last attempt to reunite was unsuccessful so I'm taking over as mom.

While I was out taking care of the gang last evening I was walking up the trail from the downtown pen when a raccoon ambled across the path in front of me. After my initial heart attack thinking I left a pen unsecured and someone came out to play, I realized it was Scrappy. Must have decided to come out early to cause trouble! LOL

He picked a nice spot in a tree to watch something exciting happening on the pond.


He seems to have finally found a better den than the tree next to his pen to spend his days at least. I still haven't seen Vin in quite some time. If he is still around, he's not coming by until the wee hours of the morning, unlike Scrappy who is out there most early evenings....and still happy to say Hi to me when I check on him. Hopefully Vin's fine. I have heard the familiar sound of an annoyed raccoon in the woods behind the pens and can only imagine he's up to his usual trouble-making activities with the locals now.

Goodies from our friends!

A GREAT BIG thank you out to all our friends at the Bedford Council on Aging!!! They are kind enough to supply all kinds of goodies and treats for the gang that another of our favorite friends, Kristin, lugs over here....special delivery!....for the gang!

The excitement is overwhelming and there is a mad rush for the coveted goodies!

They proceed to start grabbing what they can and shoving it in their mouths!

Just look at those happy faces! (and full mouths....they're not good about chewing with their mouths closed!)

The 3 littlest members had no problem shoving right into the crowd and taking what they wanted.....in fact they were little Tasmanian devils...standing right in the middle, gobbling up pieces and snarling at the big kids that tried to take some! In the end, one of the big kids remedied that by just grabbing the whole thing right out from under every ones nose and taking off with it! LOL

So thanks again everyone....it was delicious and we greatly appreciated it!

A great big Thank You!

It's been very crazy here with 2 new baby coons....yup that's 19 all still on the bottle!...and 2 very adorable coyote pups! Wait till you see the pics of them...if I ever get a moment to download them! LOL They were in rough shape but are doing well now and heading to the vet today for an awful skin infection.

While I have a few brief moments though, I want to send a great big thank you out to Phillip & Michelle in GA for a very generous donation! Fellow raccoon lovers who have enjoyed the antics of their own gang of furrbutts over the years, and hopefully a future rehabilitator after retirement?.....Awesome! Once you're hooked on these silly critters, there's no going back!

Thanks again to Donna M. for her continued support and for always thinking about us!!! And of course John for all his help...donating his time, money and building expertise when needed. He was also very helpful heading over to the location the baby coyote pups were found to check out the situation and see if a den or mom could be located for me while I was at work. He being our local coyote expert, and me being stuck at work and unable to get over there right away....I felt a lot better having him insure their safety until I could get them!

I could go on forever thanking all who have helped....but time is VERY short...and you would be bored! LOL My number 1 supporter....Dad I could go on forever about....but I get to thank him in person every day....so to all who have helped and all who care enough to rescue the animals in need.....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You have all helped make what we do possible!

A builder of boxes for squirrel or coon,

and housing for orphan's with plenty of room.

Moving downed trees after stormy winds blow,

fixing the damage from a long winter's snow.

Shopping at BJ's for veggies and grapes,

for me to distribute among orphans plates.

He's always around to lend his support,

with time and knowledge, even the financial sort.

Wild babies survive to go free in the fall,

with all his hard work to thank for it all.

Always unfailing through good times and rough,

for all that he's done I can not thank enough!

The biggest supporter that I've ever had,

he's one in a million, number one, and my Dad!

Thanks to Dad and everyone else who has help support our little wild orphans (from vets to friends to strangers -donating time, skills and much needed supplies and money!!)...without you all this endeavor would be impossible!!
