It's hard to believe we are almost into baby season with all the adults each of us has been caring for due to the harsh winter! Laurie has a few possums being treated for frostbite. They have to spend about 3-4 weeks on antibiotics and pain meds, so it's not like she can just release them when conditions are good outside.
JoAnn and Laurie have been caring for some injured adult bunnies with various issues.
Mary has some bats and I've still got Lincoln the raccoon here. Hopefully we can get them out before the season officially hits!
Waterfowl have been getting picked up and brought to Tuft's left and right with all kinds of weather related issues!
Little raptors are also having problems. My sister in law is also an ACO, so last week while she was helping me out with a stray that needed an evaluation, she got a call for a screech in a mill that had been eluding her for days! Luckily, with the two of us we were able to surround and conquer! I'm happy to report that the cute little one is doing great in the hands of a friend and local raptor rehabilitator!
The incubator is up and ready to go......
......because babies are already starting to trickle in! JoAnn got some baby mice..
....and pinkies have arrived!!! All 4 are in good hands with our friend Carole!
Now we wait with bated breath for the flood.........
