After the storms....

OK folks! The calendars are in and they look great! They are $20 and just use the paypal button to the right. Make sure your address is included so we know where to send it!

Well Hurricane Sandy is gone, but not forgotten by any means! A lot of trees down around here! Dad has been keeping busy with his sturdy chain saw, clearing them out and getting the big pine off the now mangled raccoon pen. At least most of them will be put to good use. Many will be cut into appropriate sizes to re-decorate the pens. I can usually rely on fallen trees every year to furnish the pens, which is great since I don't like to cut down live, healthy ones to put in there.

This little one caught a lucky break. Well, to be honest, I don't think it considered itself lucky! I was holed up in the bedroom riding out the storm when I heard an excessive amount of squeaking  from the floor. Low and behold this little one was stumbling across the floor....apparently a kidnap victim that somehow managed to escape the clutches of his evil captors (aka Cruiser & Rookie, 2 of my cats) before they could murder him! He was a little soggy and disoriented, so I scooped him up and gave him a safe place to hopefully recover. I'm happy to say he's doing great and once the nor'easter that has brought a lot of snow, wind and frigid temps has passed, I'll be sending him on his way out there!

Thanks to Dee and Tom and Kathy at Urban Wildlife Rehabilitation, Dusty now has a couple of friends. He is totally thrilled to have someone to wrestle with!! I'll get some pics this weekend to share!
