When dog meets snapping turtle.

Here's my 3 legged boy Marley......don't let his tough looks fool ya, he's afraid of his own shadow! (An abused rescue that was thrown out of a car window and left to die on the sidewalk down south, leading to the amputation of his leg.)
And here we have one of many snappers that enjoy my lawn....especially in the spring during egg laying season!

Lucky for Marley, this is all that happened when he went outside, ran over to check out a snapper on my lawn the other day, and learned the hard way snappers don't want to play! Both ended up air born after Marley sniffed, snapper snapped, and surprised Marley jumped- complete with snapper attached to nose!

I'm happy to report both were none the worse for wear. The snapper continued it's visit while Marley retreated to the house with a minor scrape...and will probably never want to go out again! LOL
